From When?Right after finding out the 'J' in Raymond J Holt is for Jacob.
History: Canon historyHe fluxed to his version of New Dodge shortly after Captain Holt told him what the J stood for and was beyond ecstatic. He was thrown off for sure, but settled fairly quickly. He was there and was hired as Deputy by Jim Gordon during one of his stints as sheriff before the man handed it to Thawne to take over. Thankfully he kept the spot going which wasn't all too surprising to a version of Rosa from farther along than he was that wound up working in C&P for a lack of spots available elsewhere. To say that was interesting was an understatement. It got him an immediate chance to arrest Doug Judy when he fluxed in and got to customs. This being after the lesson of 'This is the place of second chances' so after getting him to the counter with a big doofy grin, let him go, leaving the building cheering he finally caught the Pontiac Bandit.
About two weeks after that, the TC had been blessed with the presence of one John McClane. Jake being star struck for the few months he was there.
It was a couple months later he and Rosa had their detective instincts kick in. They figured something was wrong. Rosa was thinking a lot worse than Jake, enough to choose to go home to her fiancee Jake had never even heard of before. Jake refused to leave and told Rosa that much with 'Thousand Push Ups'. Doug Judy had disappeared by the time things started going downhill more and more.
Things were a day to day thing as stuff got slowly worse and worse. Especially when he saw two of the biggest brains seeming to plan something. Things got even worse when his body was hijacked by Randall Flagg. He was essentially killed at that point. Trapped in the sheriffs department. More specifically in a magically barrier'd cell that wouldn't let him out.
He came to this version of New Dodge after bleed through happened. He got saved, New Dodge saved, Randall is maybe gone and he now whines in the sheriffs department as a ghost and watches Die Hard. A lot. With Raymond Wadsworth.
Why do you think your character would work in this setting? He was in Dark Dodge for ages so being where things are good will be awesome for him.
How do you plan to expand their CR?'Social Butterfly' is the best way to explain him. Jake Peralta will talk to everyone who wants to talk to him. Especially after regaining physical form.
What will your character do for work?Ghost to start with but once with body, bouncer at the night club.
Inventory: Himself and his ghostly... Ghostliness.
Samples: Third-Person Sample: There were things he missed about having a body. This right here? This wasn't one of them. He had gone drinking after karaoke. Dove right into maybe a few more drinks than he should have after singing some song about throwing things on the ground because of being an adult. Right now though, he was waking up. Hungover as all hell. So he got up, eyes squinted, face a bit scrunched up as he looked out his window before going about his day. "Work. Club. Shiny person." Names weren't coming easy quite yet. "Coffee." Priorities. He stumbled to the kitchen of his yurt to get some coffee. Once the pot was finished brewing, he poured himself a cup when something hit him, mug being risen up to his mouth.
He was alive with an actual living body. He could feel his heart beat, breath in his lungs, all of that. And conveniently as he gasped in some coffee and spat it over his counter and chest "HOT HOT OH MY GOD HOT" Pain was also a thing. A very painful. Pretty damned terrible thing. He whined and whimpered before taking a cautious sip of his coffee again. "Breakfast. At the saloon." He decided upon once finishing the cup.
He looked down to his sweat pants and white tshirt wearing self "Change first." After that, he would go get breakfast. Go check things out, all of that. It was tie to explore the town. Properly this time and not as a ghost.
